Hi there, I'm John.
I founded CT Piano, based in East Hartford, to enrich people’s musical experiences by helping their pianos perform at their best.
Like many pianists, I grew up practicing on an old, well-loved (and often out-of-tune) piano. That experience sparked my curiosity about how these remarkable instruments work and ultimately led me to the craft of piano technology.
During my apprenticeship, I learned that proper piano care goes far beyond tuning. Cleaning, repairs, and regulation all work together to bring out the full potential of an instrument.
Later, while building pianos at the Mason & Hamlin factory, I gained a rare inside look at how world-class instruments are constructed and the level of performance they’re capable of achieving.
I later served as a field technician for a prestigious piano dealer in the New York City area, bringing that same level of care and craftsmanship to pianists across Connecticut.
